Paul Adams

This year sees Paul reach a significant milestone, he's been making audiences laugh for twenty five years in all types of venues all over the world. Be it opening for legends like Stevie Wonder, George Benson & Smokey Robinson or a dozen of Chile's finest military on Paradise Harbour in Antarctica, Paul has the talent to tailor his show for any crowd.

His first stand-up show was in 1989 during a members' evening at the Bob Hope theatre aged just seventeen. Within the year he'd left school and started his career as a resident entertainer for Warners and then as a Bluecoat at Pontins. Both the perfect job and grounding. Following a year hosting a touring show on the island of Jersey, Paul began a decade as the opening act for major stars from the UK and America including The Temptations, Michael Ball, Bradley Walsh, Gene Pitney, Jose Feliciano, Englebert Humperdink and The Stylistics.

His ease and likability saw him regularly asked to warm-up studio audiences for Blankety Blank, the National Lottery and the Generation Game and as that decade came to a close he created, wrote and hosted two tours of Make 'em Laugh - the Solid Gold Comedy Show featuring comedy legends Frank Carson and Norman Collier. A major highlight for Paul were his two very successful years at Capital Gold radio where he wrote and appeared on the Bradley Walsh Sunday Breakfast show before hosting his own All Request Breakfast as well as being the first choice cover for the flagship Breakfast show.

Soon the bookers from the big American cruise ship companies came knocking and Paul has spent a large part of the last fifteen years travelling to all the seven continents onboard Royal Caribbean, Seabourn, Holland America, NCL and Princess. His success in front of mixed international audiences still means the world to him. Not only happy making them laugh onboard Paul can always be found in comedy clubs whilst waiting for ships; Bangkok, Sydney, Aukland and NYC it really doesn't matter. Great reactions from crowds in New York, Atlantic City, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal saw Paul relocate to North America for two years to hone that conversational style of his.

Paul has just finished his third successful season as comic on the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, the biggest show of its kind in Europe and is heading back down to Australia and New Zealand for some shows on land as well as the ships. He's also back where it all started hosting a brand new bi-monthly comedy club in London, Comedy @ the Bob Hope Theatre. Yes. It has come full circle but it's been a varied career and shows no sign of slowing down.
